There’s something I see happening with women every single year – especially around summer when the evenings are longer or at the start of the year when the evenings are getting brighter.
We tell ourselves:
“Once the brighter evenings arrive, I’ll feel more like myself again.”
And for a little while, we do.
The sun comes out.
The evenings stretch longer.
There’s more energy in the air.
But then something else quietly happens.
We start squeezing more into our lives.
More social plans.
More emotional labour.
More organising.
More pressure to “make the most” of the good weather.
More saying yes.
More giving ourselves away in tiny invisible pieces.
And before we know it?
We’re exhausted again.
Not dramatic, collapse-on-the-floor exhausted.
Just that low-level:
- mentally cluttered
- emotionally stretched
- constantly behind
- “I can’t seem to get my life together”
kind of exhaustion.
The kind that slowly disconnects you from yourself.
The Women I Work With Usually Aren’t “Falling Apart”
In fact, most women who come to me for support in Dublin 18 or online across Ireland are incredibly capable.
They’re intelligent.
Self-aware.
Deep thinkers.
Often highly sensitive.
Usually the ones everyone else depends on.
They read the books.
Listen to the podcasts.
Journal.
Reflect.
Try to work on themselves.
But eventually they hit a wall.
Because there comes a point where:
you cannot self-help your way out of nervous system exhaustion alone.
And that’s often where I come in.
Not to “fix” you.
Not to diagnose you as broken.
But to help you:
- clear the mental noise
- reconnect with yourself
- rebuild self-trust
- stop abandoning your own needs
- understand what’s actually keeping you stuck
- and finally begin moving forward again

Sometimes You Don’t Need More Information — You Need Support
This is something women tell me all the time:
“I know what I should be doing… I just can’t seem to DO it.”
That’s because being stuck usually isn’t about intelligence.
It’s about:
- fear
- overwhelm
- nervous system dysregulation
- subconscious beliefs
- burnout
- emotional exhaustion
- lack of clarity
- people pleasing
- fear of being seen
- fear of changing
Sometimes all of those things get tangled together.
And when they do, life can start to feel strangely small.
You begin surviving instead of living.
Weeks blur together.
Another season passes.
Another year disappears.
And deep down, there’s often this persistent feeling that:
“Surely my life is meant to feel bigger than this.”
This Is the Work I Love Most
While I still work deeply with clients therapeutically, I increasingly work with women who want support around:
- confidence
- anxiety
- stress
- overwhelm
- visibility
- self-belief
- boundaries
- life direction
- identity shifts
- reconnecting with themselves
- creating meaningful change
This work is deeply personal and tailored to you.
I use a combination of tools depending on what’s needed:
- Clinical Hypnotherapy with Psychotherapy
- subconscious work
- nervous system regulation
- mindset work
- behavioural pattern work
- guided reflection
- emotional support
- intuitive insight
- Energywork
- Looking at your lifes patterns
No rigid formula.
No one-size-fits-all approach.
Just honest, grounded support to help you move forward again.
Why Women Often Feel More Overwhelmed During Summer
Interestingly, research shows that stress and emotional overwhelm do not simply disappear because the weather improves.
Longer days and increased social expectations can actually create additional pressure for many women — especially those already carrying emotional, mental or family responsibilities.
According to the HSE Mental Health Services, stress and anxiety can often build gradually when people ignore their own emotional needs for too long.
And sometimes the women who appear to be coping best on the outside are the very women quietly struggling underneath it all.

Not waiting to feel confident.
Not waiting to feel ready.
Not waiting until life calms down.
Not waiting for motivation to magically arrive.
Sometimes clarity comes AFTER movement.
Not before it.
And sometimes the most important thing you can do is stop trying to carry yourself through everything alone.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or quietly aware that your life wants to move in a different direction…
maybe this is your sign to stop putting yourself on hold.
